Serviços Marítimos Continental is a company that has always been committed to Quality, Health, Safety and the Environment. The arrangements for and formalization of its processes, seeking to obtain its certifications, began in 2005. With the help of a consulting team, training of employees and through an audit process, in 2006 Continental obtained the ISO 9001:2000 and OHSAS 18001:1999 certifications. Since then, through our Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental Policy and the commitment of our employees, we have been continuously improving the performance of our services, training and qualifying ourselves, looking after health and safety of our employees and always preserving the environment. In 2009, we went through a transition from ISO 9001:2000 to ISO 9001:2008, and from OHSAS 18001:1999 to OHSAS 18001:2007. At the end of that year, after an audit by the certifier DNV, we were able to update our certifications.
In 2011, Serviços Marítimos Continental S.A. made the commitment to conduct its activities with environmental awareness, so that its services would cause the least or no impact on the environment, and structured its processes to meet that goal. In October, its environmental management system was recognized and Serviços Marítimos Continental obtained the ISO 14001:2004 certification.
In 2019, aiming to adapt to the new versions of the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards, Serviços Marítimos Continental S.A. took on the challenge of seeking its recertification already in the new versions of the standards. With the effort of all employees and the commitment to continuous improvement of the SGI, we were successful in the audit and obtained the certifications. In 2021, Serviços Marítimos Continental S.A. successfully performed a data handling audit from the OHSAS 18001:2007 standard to ISO 45001:2018.
Today, Serviços Marítimos Continental S.A. is certified in the following standards: ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018.
